| WHY? |
The 2008 Anchorage Daily News Visitor's guide writes: "If you don't spend at least a couple of hours on a bicycle during a stop in Anchorage, you're missing out on what could be the highlight of your vacation."
The November 2004 issue of Bicycling Magazine ranked Anchorage the number one city in the world for bike paths. They called it a "Bike Utopia."
There are four paved greenbelt trails that ring the city. The 11-mile Tony Knowles Coastal Trail is the best. Together with the Chester Creek Trail, the meandering Campbell Creek Trail and the new Ship Creek Trail, they create a bike-beltway. Map/Routes Most renters encounter moose on the Coastal Trail in the woods between the airport's fenced runways and the ocean.

| HOW? |
Collaborate. First we ask what type of bike(s) you ride back home and what type of riding you want to do here. The Coastal Trail? Distance/road? Mountain biking? Next we suggest a bike and you test it. If the suggested bike passes the "form" test, you next subject it to the "function" test. Shift the gears, check the brakes, and make sure everything is working as it should. After you pick your bike and confirm it's working right, we explain/discuss where to go and how to get there.
