FACTS 1. A credit (not debit) card is required to rent a bike.
2. Pedal Policy: If you're renting for more than one day, clip-in pedals and shoes are free. Alternatively, if you're renting for more than one day you're welcome to bring your own pedals and shoes. For rentals of a day or less, there is a $4 charge to put your pedals on and off of a rental bike. The issue is not so much the time it takes to do it, but the wear and tear so much pedal swapping takes on crank threads.
3. There are no facilities on the Coastal Trail. All bikes have water bottle cages. Bottled water sold for 95¢ at our store. Anchorage has great tap water. Free water tap water at our store. Refill again at Kincaid Park.
4. Almost every bike has a rack to carry things. We have a large inventory of panniers, side saddle sacks and bungee cords. A few backpacks are available if you pick a bike without a rack. Free.
5. Wildlife our renters see on Anchorage's greenbelt bike paths in order of frequency: Moose, eagles, porcupines, beavers, owls, fox, and beluga whales.
